Mexico’s industrial sector is undergoing a transformation driven by innovation, digitalization, and modernization. Kiyoshi Tsuru participated, in his capacity as Chair of CONCAMIN’s Creative Industries Commission, in CONCAMIN’s Executive Committee and Board Meeting, where key priorities for strengthening Mexico’s competitiveness and industrial development were addressed. Creative industries are playing an increasingly important role in this transformation agenda.

As part of the WIPO Advanced Workshop on Domain Name Dispute Resolution, participants examined key challenges in trademark and domain name disputes, with a particular focus on the impact of artificial intelligence on UDRP proceedings. Kiyoshi Tsuru joined Matthew Kennedy and Deanna Wong for the panel “The Promises and Pitfalls of AI,” exploring the implications of AI use by complainants and respondents in digital asset disputes. The workshop also addressed evolving approaches to domain name rights, respondent defenses, and international standards in an increasingly complex digital environment.

During the concerts held at Estadio GNP Seguros, the TSURU team participated in preventive actions aimed at combating the sale of counterfeit merchandise around the venue. These efforts were made possible through coordinated work with the Instituto Mexicano de la Propiedad Industrial (IMPI), whose professionalism and commitment to protecting industrial property rights and consumers we greatly appreciate.
